I am loving this new trend of sewing bloggers creating their own fabric lines! And now that it has happened I sort of feel like “Duh! How did that not happen before” ha! Dana of Made Every Day recently released her Fiesta Fun fabric with Art Gallery fabrics and I was lucky enough to get to take some for a sew! Of course I had to make Tully dresses (available HERE), because, well, I’m obsessed! I was able to work with Citrus and Mexican Dress.
Both girls loved the bright and happy colors! Especially since I am usually more of a muted tone girl ha! Evie was so excited about the pompom sleeves and it took Chloe a while to get over pouting that hers didn’t have them (I am still trying to find some orange pompoms but our local store is out boo).
Of course we had to shoot with some oranges and lemons…. which is probably super cliche and over done with orange and lemon print fabric but I don’t mind, it’s still super cute!
I thought for SURE Chloe was going to squeeze lemon juice in her eye but we got lucky! No juice in the eye BUT there was fruit dropped in the sand ehemchloesehem and after that she didn’t want to do any more pictures. Just stare at her sandy lemon.
I do have to say that the Mexican dress fabric is my favorite out of the two. Being super partial to my own embroidered Mexican dress it was fun having Evie be able to wear something similar.
As is always the case with Art Gallery fabrics the fabric itself is amazing quality! It is funny how over the years I feel like my fingers have gained this “fabric sense” and can call out cheap fabric the minute it touches it.
Both prints washed beautifully and even though both girls ended up with citrus juice on their dresses it washed right out with some spray with out any fading. With Spring in full swing and summer on it’s way for the Northern Hemisphere it is the perfect bright and happy fabric! Thank you so much Dana for letting me give it a try!
